There are 3 columns in the footer area. You could drag any widgets to these areas. The widget that we’re using are text widget for the blog title, navigation menu and the genesis featured posts.

Drag a navigation menu widget to this area and select which menu you’d like to use. For the best results, please do not include drop down in the menu.

We use Genesis Featured Posts widget and the settings of the widget is as below. You could choose any category you want.
